Mother Child Wellbeing Partnership/POSHAN Program

Executive Summary

Mother Child Wellbeing Partnership Program aims to improve the wellbeing of children under five and their mothers in Nepal. Activities aim to strengthen the health system; improve nutrition of 1000 days mothers and children; improve care and feeding practices; increase household food security; promote food safety and hygiene; and promote women’s empowerment and leadership. The program design has drawn on the collective experience, expertise and evidence base of CARE, iDE, MAP International and local and global partners. Sundar Nepal Sanstha is working as implementing partner for Barahatal Rural municipality, Birendranagar Municipality, Bheriganga Municipality, Gurvakot Municipality and Lekbesi Municipality of Surkhet district of Karnali Province of Nepal.

Result 1: Increased availability and consumption of nutritious foods

Result 2: Improved quality and equitable health systems

Result 3: Improved knowledge and adoption of positive MICHN behaviours

Result 5: Increased women’s control over household decision-making

Target Beneficiaries: Project will benefit 125 health mother groups with 2500 golden thousand days' mothers, 13908 individuals, 4796 women of reproductive age and 1113 children under five in 5 municipalities of Surkhet district.
