EnDev Project
Executive Summery
EnDev project aims to develop a healthy market for clean cooking solutions for HHs in Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces offering customer choice in cooperation with communities, rural/municipalities, service providers, local financing institutions, Alternative EnergyPromotion Centre (AEPC) and other related organisations. It is aimed to promote E-cooking options to households from these provinces depending on the appropriateness/availability. T.otal of 6,500 HHs are targeted in which 8 enterprises and 80 jobs will be created/strengthened.
SNV, with the help of EnDev project will focus on promotion of electricity based high-tier cooking appliances, as well as on capacity building of the Local Government Units (RM), creating a strong basis for market expansion and interest for last mile distributors by showing them potential business opportunities and making an enabling environment by introducing result-based incentives and demand side subsidies. By implementing, the high-tier cooking project (focusing on electric cooking), EnDev will also complement the national goal of achieving 25%of electricity-based cooking by 2030.
